A Glimpse of a Glimpse

A glimpse of a glimpse
That’s what I’ve seen
A hint of a hint
The outer fringes of glory
But even that…
Is so beautiful
So breathtaking
So awesome and astonishing…
As to be utterly beyond words
It stirs me
It stuns me
It draws me
And it completely ruins me …
In the very best way
But also in the very worst way
Because I see what could have been
I see what should have been …
In light of what is
I see how far we’ve fallen
I see how we’ve left our First Love…
And it breaks my heart
But He’s not dismayed
He’s not discouraged
He is simply Love
And Love never fails
Love draws us back…
Again…
And again…
To His heart
For a glimpse
For a glimpse of a glimpse
Of all He’s prepared
For those who love Him

Abba thank you for the privilege of being alive at this time–for the privilege of witnessing the outpouring of Your heart upon a people who desperately need to know Love. Thank You for wooing us, calling us, drawing us … back to our First Love. Thank You for restoring the purity and priority of Your presence to Your Church. I KNOW You’re doing it – this is the time, this is the hour, right here, right now – for the greatest outpouring of Your Spirit and baptism of love the world has ever known. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done – in Your Church and on the earth – as it is in heaven. ~Amen.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him”  – 1 Cor. 2:9 NLT

****************

I’ve been absent from the blogging world for a bit and that may yet continue for awhile as I’m in the midst of a major transition.  Among other things I left my job of 7+ years without a real clue of what’s next, but I knew it was His invitation so I’ve been in a place of great peace. Although I still have no real clue as to what the “plan” is for the long run (I’m fine with that) He has placed a couple of projects and adventures before me in the short run so I am enjoying those. When the time is right, I’m sure I’ll be back around here more often. I miss so many of your great blogs, but will pop in from time to time to try to catch up 🙂  In the meantime (and always) may you know the great pleasure and privilege of simply being His!

  1. Awesome. You really capture the heart of a God encounter. The “shock and awe” of those split-second glimpses that ruin us for the rest of our lives in so many ways. Transformational, to say the least!

Enjoy your new adventures. You will be missed while you’re away but am so glad that God has new assignments in store for you! Blessings.

  2. Receive grace for the new projects. He is always faithful to supply all that is needed to do his biddings. Faith is our victory. I’m in faith with you.
