To our God we lift up one voice

…With one heart
…One mind
…And one accord

We worship One God

…With one purpose
…One passion
…And one desire

This has been my dream for as long as I can remember.

Because this has been His dream since before time began. 

I’ve had glimpses of the fulfillment of this dream. I have experienced the precious reality of unity. I’ve tasted its sweetness for a moment here and there–lately with increased frequency. Moments of oneness. Moments when a group of people did gather to worship Him with one voice, one heart, one mind and one accord.

…Moments that have taken my breath away.

…Moments that have provided a tiny glimpse into the celebration to come when, finally, we ALL worship Him as one.

…Moments that have encouraged my heart and given me hope to believe we really are, at long last, moving in the right direction.

…Moments that have blessed me profoundly because I know how much our still weak, yet pure and sincere, worship blesses Him.

It’s wonderful.

It’s exciting.

It’s glorious.

But it’s not enough.

It’s not nearly enough.

Because He is worthy of SO much more.

During one of those recent moments, I had a thought:

If one can put to flight a thousand, and two can put to flight ten thousand–what can an army worshiping warriors do?

What can an army of abandoned lovers do?

What can ONE united Church … ONE united Body … ONE united Bride …with ONE united desire and dream do?

The world is aching to know.

The world is longing to know.

The world needs to know.

And He can’t wait to show them.

When He is continually enthroned in our praises … when we create a resting place for Him on the earth by first establishing His reign in our hearts and minds … when,  together, we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness … then, finally, will the increase of His government and His peace know no end?

Will His Kingdom come and His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven?

This is what He desires.

This is what He deserves.

This is what I long to give Him.

But I can never give Him this on my own.

Will you join me?

He is waiting.

The world is waiting.

So what are we waiting for?

“O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together!” – Ps. 34:3

I love the song “To Our God”–the bridge particularly always makes me want to jump out of my skin and give Him an offering of highest praise!! In fact, one of the recent “moments” I’ve described in this post was during a recent visit to Bethel Church in Redding when Kristene Dimarco led this song. I couldn’t find a good version with her singing it, so I’m posting the original release of the song from a few years back. Make His praise glorious!!!!
