When I was your foe, still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to meOh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights till I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I don’t deserve it, I couldn’t earn it, still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Even though I first heard this song nearly a year ago, it still grips my heart. Today, as I contemplate the sacrifice Jesus made to set me free – to set you free – to set us free – the lyrics seem all the more profound and thought provoking.
No shadow you won’t light up; mountain you won’t climb up
Coming after me
No wall you won’t kick down; lie you won’t tear down
Coming after me
Literally, there was NO mountain He wouldn’t climb up.
Even Calvary.
“But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!” -Romans 5:8 tPt
Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God!
*lyrics from the song Reckless Love by Cory Asbury

I love this song, too! We practically wore it out, but we don’t get tired of singing it.
No, there’s no mountain He won’t climb up, no wall He won’t kick down! That’s what Love looks like! Blessings.
