“But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its window open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.” –Daniel 6:10
“For He is the living God,and He will endure forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed.” –Daniel 6:26 (Emphasis mine)
A law was signed that would dramatically challenge God’s people. But nothing moved Daniel from a posture of prayer, gratitude and humility. May we, too, always respond according to the higher law of His Kingdom–“the Kingdom of the Son of His love”–because His righteousness, peace and joy is written eternally on the tablets of our very hearts. May our “usual” response–whatever may come–always be to kneel in thanks to the One whose Kingdom can never be shaken. And, in a spirit of true meekness, wisdom, and love, may we always seek to rightly represent the heart of our gloriously good God and His eternal Kingdom to this restless and anxious world.
Yes, kneeling down as usual, just He always did and yes may we continue to do so…no matter what!

Amen. Keeps it all in perspective, doesn’t it? 🙂 Blessings to you Glenda!

I think it’s the “as usual” relationship with God that changes us and puts everything in its proper perspective for us. When we’re facing adversity it’s beholding HIS face that makes us brave! 🙂 Thanks for this awesome reminder of where our strength and peace comes from. Blessings.

Isn’t that the truth? That’s what really struck me about the passage when I read it yesterday … Daniel’s usual relationship with God was one of continual heavenly perspective. I agree – such a good reminder for us! 🙂
