Do you remember wonder?
Do you remember when your heart was awakened to the marvelous mystery of the incarnation; to that wondrous feeling of finally knowing what Christmas was all about?
Do you remember when the extraordinary invaded the ordinary, and the ordinary suddenly became extraordinary simply because He was there?
Do you remember?
Do you remember awe?
Do you remember being awestruck by the amazing absurdity of God in a manger; the King of glory in swaddling clothes?
Do you remember gazing upon thousands of stars and realizing the One who created them all came to earth as a helpless babe?
Do you remember?
Do you remember holy?
Do you remember gasping in astonishment when you tasted the sacred stillness of that night long ago in Bethlehem?
Do you remember singing O Holy Night–as if for the first time–and actually falling on your knees when your realized that, at last, you understood the words?
Do you remember?
Do you remember love?
Do you remember your heart exploding with the knowledge that only an unfathomably good Father would go to such wondrous and awesome extremes to reveal the depths of His pure, holy love?
Do you remember unwrapping the gift of His love and knowing–really knowing–He came for you?
Do you remember?
Before disappointment dragged down your soul …
Before disillusionment distorted your vision …
Before distraction diverted your attention …
and affection
Do you remember?
Do you remember the wonder of Christmas?

I posted this over on Simple Faith today, but it fits here too. Over the next couple of weeks, I pray that your heart will remember the true wonder of Christmas!
