I Will Not Be Silent

I have something to say.

Not everyone will like it.

And it’s not for everyone.

Sometimes I don’t want to say it.

Hell definitely doesn’t want me to say it.

But I do have something to say.

It’s cost a lot …

Many a tear stained carpet.

Many sleepless nights spent wrestling.

Then surrendering.

Then wrestling and surrendering again.

It’s cost far too much to squander.

And I won’t–I refuse.

Because I have something to say.

I won’t say it indiscriminately.

I won’t “cast pearls before swine.”

But I am willing to risk.

I’m willing to sacrifice–but  not foolishly.

I’ll bare my heart–but with discernement

–with grace

–with wisdom

–with patience.

I’m in it for the long haul.

Because I have something to say.

AND I WILL NOT BE SILENT!

What has God given you to say? What makes your heart burn? Where is the greatest battle; the greatest opposition?

Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Don’t be discouraged. Press on. Press in. The world needs authentic voices. Voices driven by passion and conviction–not popular opinion. Voices driven by love for the One who gives us something worth saying.

Find your voice … and don’t ever be silenced again.

I wrote this over a year ago in its entirety but for whatever reason never pressed “publish.” I was going through some unfinished posts a while back and ran across this one. I almost published it then, but didn’t, ironically, because I have been going through a period of time where I DON’T feel like I have much of anything to say. I’m still in that season, but this morning I thought about it again and realized that having a voice ISN’T about having something profound or wonderful to say or write. Finding your voice is simply about having the confidence to be who you are, where you are–and having the freedom to speak, or not speak, authentically from there.  So speak out–or not–just be true to who you are. ❤

      1. You know at times, I sense the Lord saying this to me, also and I just have to encourage others like you to keep speaking the truth. And I love the way you continue to do that, always with love and always glorifying to our Savior.
        Blessings to you today, Cindy!

    1. So true. What is that quote … “the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” Or something like that. Powerful truth in any event.

  1. AMEN Cindy! Hit the nail right on the head. Those of us who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and reconciled to the Father MUST speak louder than we ever have before. We live in a “time like none other in recorded history”… many, many people need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ… because judgement is real.
    Blessings
