Spontaneous Devotions: “No Sorrow Added”

The One who holds our hearts
The One who formed our hearts
He is the One who knows us
Really knows us
He is the One who knit us together in our Mother’s womb
So when the pieces of our lives
And the pieces of our hearts
Begin to unravel
And break apart
-From the waiting
-From the disappointment
-From the sorrows of life
He knows just how to put us back together

He knows the perfect timing
He knows the perfect people
He knows the perfect place
And the perfect way
To make us whole
And, even, to make us full

So He builds
And rebuilds
He heals
And He reveals…
-His mercy
-His love
-His faithfulness
And when He puts the pieces of our hearts back together…
He adds no sorrow

His blessing will come again, my friend
Because He always comes again
And when His blessings come
And they will come
You’ll find this to be true:
-The timing will be perfect
-The fit will be perfect
And there will be no sorrow added

The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. – Proverbs 10:22 NLT

  1. Amen. So important for us to remember. He can love us back together again! Wholeness without sorrow. Praise God!

I was also thinking of the Steffany Gretzinger song, “Pieces,” as I was reading…”You don’t give Yourself in pieces…” Yes! 🙂
