From His Heart to Yours: January 19, 2017

Love LetterTurn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way.
—Psalm 119:37 (NKJV)

Look up, beloved—and keep looking up. I know your heart is discouraged and you’re not sure where to turn, but before you turn to the right or to the left, turn again to me. I see you. I see the confusion and the challenges before you. I feel the heaviness in your heart, but I’m still right here with you. I haven’t left you. I haven’t forgotten you—and I never will.

I will revive your heart again as you turn your eyes from the perplexities of your current circumstances and fix them steadfastly on Me. There is nothing to be gained by focusing on disappointment and  doubt, but much to be gained by taking your place seated with Me in heavenly realms. There your perspective will be realigned with Mine. There your outlook will change and the fog will clear. And there, secure in your rightful place as My child—as My beloved—your heart will be strengthened, your soul will be refreshed, and your mind will be at peace. Revived in My ways. you will know when to go, when to wait…and you’ll always know where to turn.

♥♥♥

Have you ever noticed that it is impossible to feel hopeless when gazing into the eyes of Jesus? When we turn away from a focus on the perplexities and challenges of life and instead fix our eyes steadfastly on Him, our perspective on everything changes.

According to Paul (in Ephesians 2:6), we are, present-tense, seated in heavenly realms with Christ. We are not left to our own limited resources. We are not confined to our own limited perspective. We have everything we need right now in Him. But in order to dial into that remarkable reality, sometimes we need to intentionally shift our focus away from the inferior reality of the temporary trials of this present moment, and onto the superior reality of our exceedingly abundant eternal inheritance. No other single action will make a greater difference in your “now.”

♥♥♥

Lord, please, turn our eyes from the challenges of life and revive us in Your ways! Thank You, Jesus, for the abundant inheritance we have in You—help us to bring that reality into our now by purposefully aligning our hearts and perspective with Your own. Teach us Your ways oh Lord, so we will consistently and confidently walk in the reality of who we are in You.  ~Amen.

Sounds like a recipe for fullness of joy! Yes! Love it. Your 30-day devotional sounds good, too. I will stay tuned. 🙂
