I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hearing about new things for a long time now. Lately, though, it’s different. Lately I’m not just “hearing” about new things … I perceive them. Which is great because often we perceive before we see. We know something is changing … we’re just not sure exactly what. Because new things are … well … new.
I had written something completely different to post today. I’ll leave that for another time. Instead, I sensed the Lord leading me to this topic. The only problem is I didn’t really know where He wanted me to go with it.
But that, I think, is the message.
It’s okay to not know exactly where we’re going–as long as we know who we’re following.
Because the One we’re following is always good.
I would rather fumble and bumble my way through a new thing, than write something that’s all spiffed up, but lacking God’s presence. So instead of trying to force a bunch of pretty words into place, I’m simply going to share what I feel Him highlighting from His word. And that is this:
“The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. The rains have soaked the earth and left it bright with blossoming flowers. The season for pruning the vines has arrived. I hear the cooing of doves in our land, filling the air with songs to awaken you and guide you forth. Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of flowers whispers, ‘There is change in the air. ‘Arise my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place.’ For now is the time to arise and come away with me.” —Song of Songs 2:11-13 The Passion Translation
I certainly don’t have everything God is doing figured out, but one thing I am pretty darn sure of is this …
It is time to arise and shine, because God is doing a new thing.
