“Oh Lord, please, see the ‘yes’ in my heart!”
Things hadn’t gone quite the way I’d expected or hoped. I wasn’t sure what God’s plan was anymore, but I was sure I wanted to be a part of his plan no matter what it looked like. I needed to be sure he knew that.
But of course he already knew. He always knows.
I see the ‘yes’ in your heart, beloved. I’ve always seen the ‘yes’ in your heart. But tell me, do you see the ‘yes’ in mine?
Such an innocuous question. Right? So simple. Do I see the ‘yes’ in his heart? Of course I do. Right?
Right?
Do I see his ‘yes’ when …
… his ‘yes’ means I’ve toiled all night and caught nothing. But nevertheless at his word I put down the nets one more time. Sometimes his ‘yes’ means my labor comes to nothing, but at his word the things I can never do in my own strength are accomplished instantly.
… his ‘yes’ means he loves me, so he waits. Sometimes his ‘ yes’ means waiting for more than the simple healing I desire–it means holding out for life from the dead.
… his ‘yes’ means that in this world I will have tribulation. Sometimes his ‘yes’ means there is greater glory in overcoming than in avoiding.
… his ‘yes’ means he will do exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ask or imagine. Sometimes his ‘yes’ means opening my heart to receive far more than I will ever be comfortable receiving.
Just because he can. Because he wants to. Because he loves me …
YES.
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” –2 Cor. 1:20
What about you? Do you know the ‘yes’ in his heart?
This is the first blog post I read today, and I am thankful I did. As I was studying His Word this morning, I kept getting the message…”Surrender to me my child…”. Bless you!

So beautiful and inspiring. I’m learning to say “Yes” more and more. That is what God requires of me and to do anything less is a sin. I loved your imagery, too. Sandy
