So Abraham waited patiently in faith and succeeded in seeing the promise fulfilled. It is very common for people to swear an oath by something greater than themselves, for the oath will confirm their statements and end all dispute. So in the same way, God wanted to end all doubt and confirm it even more forcefully to those who would inherit his promises. His purpose was unchangeable, so God added his vow to the promise. So it is impossible for God to lie for we know that his promise and his vow will never change!
And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakeable hope! We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold. – Hebrews 6:15-19 TPT
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What He spoke yesterday, or last week, or last month, or last year, or even many years ago, is still true today. It is impossible for God to lie and His promises and vows will never change—even when circumstances change dramatically.
And that is where we find rest—in the hope of His unchanging nature and immutable character. He is still for you. He is still with you. He still wins with any hand.
I need to remind myself of that moment by moment, hour by hour, and day by day. My hope is in His faithfulness—not in circumstances. Tough, scary circumstances are all too real at this particular moment in time, which is why it is not just important, but absolutely essential, to “run into His heart to hide ourselves in His faithfulness.” There, held by His strong arms of love, we find the peace that passes understanding…and the hope to endure.
Jesus, in these uncertain times, we run into Your heart; we run into Your faithfulness. You are the One—the only One—who never fails. Even when the things and systems of this earth are shaken, Your Kingdom stands unshaken and immoveable. When we hide ourselves in You, we find the comfort of your unchanging nature in every uncertainty, and strength to persevere even in adversity. You ARE our unshakeable hope! ~Amen
I hear Him say: “Fear not little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!”

NOTE: From now until Easter I hope to write a quick meditation/devo on Scripture each day. I can’t say for sure if I’ll follow the same format each day, but I do plan to start each one with a verse or verses that He has been highlighting and end with anything I specifically hear Him saying when I am done writing. We ALL need to keep our minds focused on truth right now, and this is my way of doing that for myself and hopefully a few others. ❤️
Amen. I hope all is well with you in your part of the world. Blessings.

Hi Mel, so good to hear from you. Been a little wild and weird out here in SoCal–we are all under “stay at home” orders. Have been in time of transition and haven’t been around here much, but felt prompted to use the time to speak truth in some way, so I’ll be posting daily for a short time. Hope all is well with you and yours. Hope your church is still able to gather. Blessings!

Yeah, I get reports from my son at UCI. They’re pretty much in shut-down. Fortunately, the class he teaches is online anyway, and he doesn’t go to class for his dissertation research.
We’re shut down here, too. We can’t meet in person, but we’re doing so online. All else is well. My wife is enjoying the rest. This is usually her most hectic time of the year.

It is all a little surreal. But glad your wife is able to enjoy the slower pace—hope some of that applies to you too! I have a brand new grandson and they live close so I have been taking his 2 1/2 yr old sister a few times a week which helps them and is a joy for me. A big benefit I think we will glean from this time is folks rediscovering the importance of family! Lots of uncertainty but girded by a very secure hope in Him!
