“A Few Minutes in Philippians” – new devotional coming soon!

i'm a lifestyle and beauty blogger i write makeup tutorials and beauty reviews-1After dragging my feet for quite some time, I am finally close to releasing my first new book in several years. It is a four-week daily devotional from the book of Philippians. Here is an excerpt from the Introduction:

… I’ve always said that Philippians is a real-world kind of book. A book like Romans is a theological masterpiece—it reveals Paul’s brilliance. But Philippians has a different purpose: Philippians reveals Paul’s heart.

It can reveal our hearts, too.

Philippians provides vital keys for any disciple of Jesus who desires to heed the upward call of God in every season of life. Although the Apostle Paul wrote Philippians while confined to a Roman prison, the theme is not Paul’s hardship—it is joy! Like no other book of the Bible, Philippians gives us a glimpse into the reality of living a life of gratitude and praise in the midst of life’s most challenging circumstances. It is not lofty theology, it is the practical example of a life focused on the goodness of God rather than the temporary heartaches of this life. Paul never denies the harsh realities of his circumstances—instead, he models a life that has chosen to live above them.

The timeless wisdom of Philippians gives us the tools to live above our circumstances, too. For each of the next four weeks we will focus on one of the four chapters of the book. Each day’s reading will highlight a verse or two from that week’s chapter along with some devotional content. At the end of each chapter there will be a few additional points to ponder and an activation to help you apply what you’ve read.

… My hope and prayer is that as we spend a few minutes in Philippians each day, at the end of the four weeks you will have a greater revelation of God’s heart for you in every season, additional tools for every challenge, and access to heaven’s joy in every circumstance!

Look for it on Amazon in late December or early January!
