Our Immanuel

harke the herald angels sing

Son of God…

Savior of the world

Lord of all Creation

Uncreated

Unequaled

Undefeated

Holy and Majestic

The only One found worthy

Son of Man…

Divinity wrapped in flesh

Fully man yet no less God

Touchable

Knowable

Relatable

Tempted in every way

Yet without sin

The mystery and majesty of the incarnation. Beyond our comprehension, yet closer than our breath. He became like us to make a way for us

…to be with him

…to be like him

…to be one with him

“Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail the incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with man to dwell,
Jesus our Immanuel”

(From “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.   —John 1:1-5, 14

Jesus, our Immanuel, may we behold your glory now always, and forever.
