Stretching, bending, flowing …oh… and giving away free books

Cindy Kingdom First TV Photo1

So, um, this is a picture of me (yes me) being interviewed on TV. To be honest, I wasn’t terribly thrilled about the prospect.

I’ve always found it rather funny that I can pray for certain things, but then when God answers, somehow I manage to groan and complain about the way He answered.

It sounds incredibly foolish when I read that sentence in print. After all, He is God. He is good. And He knows exactly what is best in every circumstance. So when I ask Him for things like opportunities to share His heart and for open doors that will lead to greater impact for His kingdom, I suppose it would be nice to actually thank Him when He provides said opportunities rather than grumbling that they weren’t the “type” of opportunities I had in mind.

Let’s just say He’s been stretching me in that area a bit lately.

But it’s good.

It’s good because …

I’m learning to bend

I’m learning to flow

I’m learning to just say yes without defining the parameters (for real!)

I’m also learning to be confident in Him–if He asks me to do something, my assumption is that He will equip me.

Because, after all, it’s not about me.

It’s supposed to be about Him.

It’s supposed to be about His heart, His love, and His kingdom expanding across the earth.

When I think in those terms, my hangups about the situation are really quite irrelevant.

So, yeah, I am being stretched, but hopefully I’m also bending and flowing with a bit less resistance these days. (It’s funny how you don’t think you are resisting Him, until, well, you are.)

The link at the bottom of this post, is a little bit of the public evidence of one of my recent s.t.r.e.t.c.h.i.n.g experiences. There is, obviously, a bit of a back story that led to me being a guest on a satellite TV show to promote a book I released over two years ago, but suffice it to say God has His timing and His ways and that is okay with me.

And, since Jesus seemed to think it was a good time to promote this little book, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to cooperate with Him just a bit. Which leads me to the free book reference in the title of this post …

For 24 hours, beginning Saturday March 7th at midnight, PST, the kindle version of The Key to His Heart will be available for FREE download from Amazon.

If you’d like a bit more info on the book check out my book page, or watch the video below for a discussion on the subject matter. If you know of anyone who might be blessed by a free download of the book, please help me spread the word!

Happy stretching to all of you!

  1. So good to see and hear you again friend 🙂 One thing you and Gary hit on was about the Love of God….just today, I wrote on my Facebook wall, “GOD is love; Know GOD; Know Love.” and yes to flow out of us to others. 1John 4:16, And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Love and Blessings my Sister Friend, Juanita Pita

    1. Thank you so much Judi 🙂 You are so right, obedience is not always comfortable but in light of who He is and what He has done for us, my “discomfort” seems so ridiculously silly and small! I hope you enjoy the book. Blessings to you!

  3. Hey Cindy,
Oh my goodness what a great interview and how sweet to actually see you and hear you share about and relationship with Jesus and your writing for Him. I can so relate to how it feels when God opens a door unlike you have pictured and asks you to walk through it and finally go forward in faith and confidence this is Him and what He calls us to…He equips us for. Thank you, thank you for sharing. Now do I have to stay up and order this book at midnight or is your book free tomorrow? Actually after hearing why you wrote the book is worth paying for it. Don’t know why I have not ordered it before now. (;> Now do I pray God will continue to open doors like this? love you sweet friend I’ve yet to meet face to face.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words Glenda. For someone who HATES even having her picture taken, yeah, this was a stretch! But He was so gracious to me (isn’t He always?!) and it is always good to learn from doing something that scares you to death 🙂 As for the book, it is available for free, right now. The promotion actually ends at midnight tonight. But even if you miss it, the Kindle version is regularly only $2.99 (plus I think they will let me do another free promo before too long). Thank you again for your sweet encouragement – who knows, maybe the Lord will someday allow us the opportunity to meet face to face this side of heaven!

  4. Cindy, you did GREAT on the interview! You looked so relaxed and lucid while being stretched. God is good. 🙂
I bought your book on Amazon (Kindle) last year and it’s a great read about knowing the crazy love of God. It’s a much needed message. EVERYONE should read this! I also pray it’s gets LOTS of exposure because of the show and introduces more into the ridiculously over-the-top love of God. Blessings.

    1. Thank you Mel. God’s timing is so funny. At this point I actually wrote the book over 4 years ago. Since time has passed, it is so easy for me to focus on what I would have done differently rather than focusing on the timeless message of His eternal love. Whatever part He wants me to play (or that book to play) in connecting people to His heart in a deeper way–I am all in. Even when it is extremely uncomfortable!! He is worth it 🙂

      1. “Since time has passed, it is so easy for me to focus on what I would have done differently….” Boy, is that true! I’m not even done editing my book and I already want to revise it. LOL! Seems like God is changing me almost on a daily basis.
But you’re right. You can’t go wrong on the timeless message of love. No changes needed there! And you did an awesome job on that account.

And on being uncomfortable, the song is so true…He DOES make us brave. 🙂

        1. That IS the problem with putting something in print, lol. I feel like He rewires me all the time so it is VERY difficult to let go of the perpetual desire to edit. It’s funny how it can be so hard for me to read stuff I wrote awhile ago (I’m actually in the process of editing a Bible study I wrote in 2004, so I’m living it all over again) yet someone else can read it and it’s fresh and new and on target for them. I kind of think letting go is part of the “He makes me brave” part 🙂 Very much looking forward to YOUR book!
